Should Students Wear Uniforms In $chool ????
Whether students should wear uniforms in schools has been a heated debate for some time now. Personally, I think that we should not wear uniforms. Why? These are my reasons.
Wearing school uniforms disables us to self express. This is a very important part of a child’s life. This will only harm the way the child acts when he/she is older. If they are forced to wear these uniforms this will only make them find other inappropriate ways to self express themselves, such as putting on excessive amounts of makeup and wearing and putting on jewelry.
While wearing uniforms this does not support individuality. Aren’t we proud because our school is so diverse? We should be expressing our diversity by wearing what we want. If we are wearing these uniforms we won’t express ourselves as much as if we didn’t wear them. Wearing uniforms does not prepare the child for the real world, where they would be judged by there appearance.
Uniforms could be a problem for people with financial problems. As you people know, uniforms are expen$ive. This is because they are produced in very limited amounts and because they have to be special. Plus, uniforms are made typically out of polycotton. If they were made out of pure cotton the uniform’s color would fade within a couple of washes. That’s why the uniforms are so darn expensive. Parents say that since they buy there children uniforms they save more money, I think that’s a load of bologna. These uniforms cost as much as a plain Sean John shirt or a Marc Ecko hoody. By buying these uniforms, this will only have your child asking for more
clothes which is another problem.
Adults say that school uniforms make it easier for students to choose what they are to wear at school. Why is it easier? Wouldn’t picking out clothes like some simple jeans and a t shirt be the same as putting on your school uniform? Taking away a child’s right to wear what they want doesn’t make it any easier. , it just makes children accustomed to conformity, to following orders and walking in line without thinking, without making a choice. This creates a huge amount of psychological problems later in life, it reduces the opportunity to get good work, it reduces the overall quality of life, in some respects it is a form of child abuse to systematically deny children choice.
People have different clothes in which they are comfortable in. Some kids are comfortable in a certain style of clothing. If a student is wearing a uniform that they are not comfortable in this
will lower his/her lack of confidence and lower academic achievement.
So yea those are my reasons. If that doesn’t help you think again about uniforms I don’t know what will. So vote for Hassan and Jeffrey. It’s the right choice.
